Nina DeCastro

Nina DeCastro is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern who is an emerging clinician with a focus in marriage, family, and couples counseling. She is passionate about encouraging individuals to explore their true selves without fear or judgment, as well as supporting them in establishing and attaining their goals in life. She also has experience working with children with special needs and fervently believes that fostering creativity, empathy, and compassion is the soundest path to reaching a child’s potential. Her approach to counseling is grounded in the principles of Person-Centered Therapy, viewing the therapeutic relationship with a client as a partnership.

Nina obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. Under the direction and supervision of Brentia Caldwell, Ed.S, LPC, NCC, ACS, CPCS, Nina will be providing group, family, couples, and individual counseling services at The Up Center, LLC.
